Information Service of the Land Development Department (LDD)

   The application of information technology (IT) and communication network to increase the efficiency of the performance of the Land Development Department (LDD) supports the main processes of the Department to attain good value, to become modern, continuous and up-to-date and the IT can be used for its maximum benefit. This will enable the organization to make decision on the data to solve the occurring problems accurately, quickly and timely, up to varying situations. At present, there are two channels of providing services in the information service system: 

Information service system via the internet for services provided to people, farmers and general public, it consists of the following systems:

1) Public service system (http://sql.ldd.go.th/service/)
   To facilitate farmers and those interested in receiving various microbial catalytic substances for land development, vetiver tillers and seed for soil and water conservation, the public service system has therefore been organized. Farmers can request for services through the internet. In case of the catalysts, the department can send the substances by postal service, which can immensely save the time and the cost.

2) Agricultural material stock record database (http://lddmapserver.ldd.go.th/stock/)
   Applicants can check the balance of agricultural materials before requesting the service at the local office or via the public service system.

3) Report of the analysis of soil, water and fertilizers (http://lddmapserver.ldd.go.th/soilanaly2/)
   Applicants can check the results of the analysis of soil, water and fertilizers via the internet at anytime. 

4) Small reservoirs database (http://sql.ldd.go.th/rsv/rsv/water.html)
   This is to monitor the progress of the construction of small reservoirs in various areas; the users can retrieve the data via the internet, such as the information about a project, the construction site and the responsible operator. 

5) Volunteer soil doctors database (http://mordin.ldd.go.th/)
This is a system that gathers the records of volunteer soil doctors at village, sub-district, district and provincial levels, to create a network to support the implementation of the policies of the Department and the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. 

6) Database for farm ponds outside the irrigation zone

   This is a system for farmers interested in participating in the water resources project for farms outside the irrigation zone, whereby farmers can apply for a pond of 1,260 cu m capacity via the internet, so that the LDD will consider and implement accordingly. 

7) Electronic Library (E-Library) (http://e-library.ldd.go.th/)
   Users of the LDD Library can check the books in the catalog pattern, to see whether they are available to be borrowed. Users can call to read e-books, abstracts or information of the LDD immediately. Furthermore, a search for information from other libraries can be done via the Broadcast Searching. The library items can be borrowed or returned quickly by using the barcode system.

8) Certification system for agricultural input materials (http://osd101.ldd.go.th/qcenter/home/)
   The entrepreneurs, farmers groups and other interested persons can submit applications via the website for certification of agricultural input materials such as bio-fertilizers, organic fertilizers, soil improvement materials, etc. The LDD can examine and issue the license to use the “Q” mark for agricultural input materials that have passed, through the Department’s website (the Q Center system). 

9) Electronic Classroom (e-Learning) (http://e-learning.ldd.go.th/lms/?lang=en)
   This is the compilation of the knowledge body pertaining to the LDD’s strategy in the form of electronic media, so that farmers, students the general public can search and learn by themselves via the website of the Department. There are totally 13 courses at present: 
(1) Production of compost by using the Super LDD1 catalyst 
(2) Production of liquid fertilizers by using the Super LDD2 catalyst
(3) Production of pesticides by using the LDD7 catalyst
(4) Production of microbes to control plant pathogens by using the Super LDD3 catalyst 
(5) Production of wastewater treating and odor eliminating agents by using the LDD6 catalyst
(6) Vetiver grass for soil and water conservation 
(7) Soil sampling and analysis by farmers 
(8) LDD12 bio-fertilizer to increase plant nutrients and hormones 
(9) Acid sulfate soils are easy to improve 
(10) Improvement of saline soils 
(11) Soil improvement with green manure 
(12) Soil and water conservation of sloping land 
(13) Rehabilitation of deserted land for sustainable use

10) Land Development Department’s procurement system (http://sql.ldd.go.th/auction)
   This is to assist and support the performance of the procurement officers of all units in recording the procurement data systematically and to publicize via the Department’s website conveniently, quickly and to display the results in ‘Online Real Time’ style. This makes it convenient to the sellers who want to participate in the procurement process of the LDD; as the buyer, the system shows the transparency and it can be checked at every step of the procurement process. 

11) The e-Search LDD (http://sql.ldd.go.th/LDDSearch/)
   This is the data search system for academic works, research, service works and database of the LDD. The e-Search LDD has been developed as a collection place of such items in a database format so that general public can search for the necessary information or related knowledge of government agencies conveniently, quickly and thoroughly.

12) KM LDD Blog (Web Blog) (http://sql.ldd.go.th/KMBlog/)
   This serves as a channel for disseminating useful knowledge of the personnel of the LDD, which can enhance the participation in exchanging and sharing of various knowledge disciplines via the internet. 

13) Information of the Land Development Department (http://sql.ldd.go.th/ldddata)
   This is to disseminate the information produced by or under the responsibility of the LDD to the interested people, so they can primarily learn the details of the data before requesting the information service or to use the data. The information of the Land Development Department has been prepared in detail on the website of the LDD.
