According to theoretical basis, the compost could be applied frequently without doing harm to plant. Such compost is only perfect-decomposed compost. In imperfect-decomposed compost, microbes will draw Nitrogen in soil to use for their growth. As a result, Nitrogen in soil decreases and plant lacks Nitrogen. Farmers should not leave perfect-decomposed compost in the sun or in the rain because plant nutrients in the compost will be decreased.

The ratio of compost application to reclaim soil and increase crops yield

For fruits like rambutan, mangosteen, longan, lichee, durian, orange and mango, compost application is divided into 3 periods :

            - Hole preparation Mix the compost with the soil and add it at the bottom of the hole in the ratio of 25-50 kg./hole depending on the hole size. Mix it with Phosphorus or Phosphate stone 500 g./hole.
            - Before yielding crops Add the compost in the furrow at the beginning or at the end of rainy season. Dig the furrow with a depth of 5-10 cm. around the crown radius of the plant. Add the compost starting from 25 kg. with chemical fertilizer (in the ratio suggested by Department of Agriculture) in the furrow and cover it up. Add it every year.
            - After the harvest Do the same like before yielding crops again.

Application of compost to crops

Apply the compost 1-3 ton/rai by scattering it all over the plot while preparing the soil. Then, mix it with the soil or inc

Application of compost to flower

            1. Flower for decoration such as rose, gerbira, chrysanthemum   While preparing the soil, scatteorporate it. For vegetable planted for eating its trunk and leaves, add the compost 2-4 kg./square meters in the seedling plot and mix it with the soil.r the compost 1-3 ton/rai with chemical fertilizer (16-16-16) 30-40 kg./rai all over the plot and break up the soil.
            2. Flower in the flowerpot Prepare the soil carefully by mixing the soil with the compost and the sand or the chop husk of coconut in the ratio of 4 : 3 : 3
            3. Flower perennials While preparing the hole, add the compost 25 kg./plant according to the plant size and the hole size. Then, mix it with the soil and Phosphorus or phosphate stone 500 g./hole at the bottom of the hole. Add it every year.
